Early Memories... May 2009

Jaime's Graduation and our first house

Beautiful and Brainy
Jaime's rocking the UNBC Graduation gown, achieving her bachelor's degree in Social Work (which I just found out is nothing like a diploma or the same as social services) while dealing with me, my ongoing custody battle for Jordan and being about...8 months pregnant by this point.
The convocation was interesting but not. To me it was like a high school graduation but on steroids. Lots of speeches from people I never heard of, lots of waiting and a lot of old people dressed up in silly costumes. The ceremonial aspects were both peculiar and ridiculous, steeped in traditions that in any other surroundings would cause people like me to laugh. But I didn't.

Early Memories October 2008 - Thanksgiving

I learned Calgarians were always willing to lend a hand (or at least a finger)
Our First Thanksgiving

Skipping back a few months from our first Valentine's Day, our first 'meet the family' trip was actually a road trip to Edmonton to spend Thanksgiving weekend with my brother Mike and his wife, Sonia. Mom and Wayne also drove out along with Wayne's son (and my stepbrother) Phil and his wife Shay. We were also meeting up with Wayne's other son (and my other stepbrother), Devon who had been living in Edmonton for a couple of years by then.

Our first Valentine's Day

Our first Valentine's.  (2009)

Jaime and I spent our first Valentine's Day traveling to Parry Sound, Ontario, I was her date to her brother Darren's marriage to Natalie. It was the first time I was meeting Jaime's Ontario family and luckily for me, she was already 4 months pregnant. I knew they just couldn't wait to see the father of her child being 12 years older than her with one bad marriage behind him.
