FAQs

Why now.
Because. Shut up.

What took you two so long?
See answer 1.

When is it?
Saturday, Aug 27th 4pm ceremony. Dinner and reception at 6ish.

Where is the ceremony and reception?

It will be at the Aspengrove Country Resort. Which is 15 minutes drive from our home in Lavington. Which is 10 minutes drive from Vernon towards Lumby. Which is 45 minutes north of the Kelowna airport.

We have reserved the resort for the weekend so if people want to come out on Friday if they wish. There are a few fishing lakes 20 minutes up Bluenose as well as Nicklen Lake Resort, which rents fishing boats I believe.

The ceremony will be at 4pm Saturday, followed by a old school bbq dinner and outdoor dance into the wee hours.

What about accommodations?

Aspengrove has six cabins available that sleep 4 to 6 people each. Reservations for these cabins will be on a first come, first get basis. One of the two deluxe cabins (sleeps 2) will be up for auction for our honeymoon fund. Minimum bid is $100 to start. Winning bid gets the cabin, winner announced August 1st. The rental will be put towards our honeymoon.

There is also room for trailers and campers ($30 per day) with a limited amount of power sources. There is a cookhouse and shower facilities on site.

The nearest motel is in Lumby and there is also the Lions campsite there as well. Check the links on our blog under Accommodations.

How do we reserve?

To reserve a cabin, contact Aspen Grove. To bid on the deluxe cabin, email one of us with your bid. We will update the blog as bids come in. All bids are anonymous until the winner is announced August 1st.

I mean, how do we reserve our attendance?

Via email or phone preferably by JULY 27th. As you confirm we will update the guest list on this page. Please let us know how many will be coming with you so we can make suitable dinner estimations.

What about those with kids?

It's a country resort, so there are plenty of trails for hiking and nature explorations. Kalamalka Beach is only 20 minutes away. The Lavington community outdoor pool will also be open and is only 10 minutes from the resort. Please let us know how many kids you are planning on bringing. We will also be having hot dogs and marshmallows if the weather permits us to have a fire pit.

We also purchased a complimentary pass for those of you with children (or are just a child at heart) for Atlantis Waterslides for Saturday. All we ask is you be back by 4pm for the ceremony. We won't be waiting for you.

What about if I want to bring a date?

Of course! If you're singled on the guest list, it's only because we don't know your current facebook relationship status. We will finalize numbers closer to the start of summer so we can get a head count for dinner. This will also apply to those who may or may not be bringing kids.

What about the Bar and Food?

TBA

Speaking of gifts...

We have been fortunate over the years to accumulate more material things than we ever dreamed of (or need). So, instead of gifts, we'd appreciate donations to a honeymoon fund. We have set up one of those Internet donation pages here. The amount of your donation will be anonymous, so whatever you feel is right, we will gladly accept and will toast you on the banks of whatever body of water we wind up in front of.

Other things;

There will be some complimentary beer and wine but a cash-bar for the good stuff. There will be music and outdoor dancing, or indoors in the ranch house if the weather is unseasonal. There will be a giant tent and probably chairs and stuff. There will be a firepit (unless there's a campfire ban). Bring a towel. The ranch house has full kitchen amenities for those camping for 1 or 2 nights.
